After running our pick ups as usual we head straight the Stirling Arms for dinner. Then we head to the Garrick for this months show. Our director tonigh. Siobhan Vincent has many award winning plays under her belt and this show will be one that we can all enjoy- The Play Boy of the Western World, written by John Millington Synge.
Synopsis
The Playboy of the Western World is about Christy Mahon, a meek young man who arrives in a remote Irish village claiming to have killed his father, becoming a local hero and winning the heart of Pegeen Flaherty, until his supposedly dead father appears, revealing Christy's "heroism" as a boastful lie and leading to a comical, chaotic reversal where the villagers turn on him, only for Christy to finally find true bravery by defending himself against his father, ultimately transforming his own identity beyond the myth.
